BA new route to Chile
British Airways has announced a brand new direct service to Santiago de Chile from London Heathrow, which is the only direct flight to the Chilean capital. The service will launch on 3rd January 2017.
Wi-Fi on board
International Airlines Group has announced plans to install high speed in-flight wi-fi across 118 British Airways’ long haul flights in 2017. The first aircraft to be equipped will be the British Airways Boeing 747-400 fleet, which will be in service early next year.
In more BA news, the airline has refreshed 13 of their 747s flying from London to New York, Dubai, Boston, Washington, Riyadh and Johannesburg. The refresh includes the installation of a new Panasonic in-flight entertainment system, featuring larger HD screens, improved power ability and an increase in films, TV and audio content.
Brussels Airlines offers long haul Economy Plus
Brussels Airline,, which is part of the Lufthansa Group, introduced an Economy Plus service on July 1st as an alternative to its Economy and Business classes on flights to Africa and North America. Economy Plus will be located in the first four rows of the Economy cabin and offers extra legroom, a glass of champagne before meals and an amenity kit. To upgrade to Economy Plus, there will be a supplement of €120 one way.
The airline has increased its London services, now flying daily between Heathrow and Hanoi.
London hotel group GLH Hotels has launched a new tool that allows guests to choose the exact room they want to stay in before making the reservation. The innovative new features include the ability to view the actual room guests wants to stay in, a search facility based on location and price as well as displaying guest reviews.
The Doyle Collection
Independent hotel group The Doyle Collection has refreshed their hotel properties. Refurbishments include new restaurants, bars, upgraded rooms and suites.
Intercontinental Hotels Group
The hotel company has announced the signing of Holiday Inn London Kensington. The 694 room franchised hotel will be rebranded from the current ‘Independent Kensington Close’ property and represents one of the largest hotels in London. The hotel is due to open as a Holiday Inn property in December.
