BA Terminal Moves at London Heathrow

Several British Airways destinations will be moving to a new terminal at London Heathrow next week as a result of the closure of Terminal 1. British Airways is taking the opportunity to consolidate London Heathrow operations into Terminal 3 and Terminal 5.  

BA to Launch Gatwick flight to Valencia

British Airways is to launch a new route from Gatwick to Valencia for the coming winter season.  The route to Spain’s third largest city will start on November 6th with four flights per week which will be increased to six per week for the summer 2016 season.

BA re-launch ‘On Business’ scheme

In more British Airways news, BA has re-launched its ‘OnBusiness’ scheme aimed at SMEs. Companies that sign up to the programme will earn triple points on their first six flights or on selected routes with airline partners within a year of joining. We have already contacted those clients who use BA OnBusiness to ensure we have your membership numbers on profiles, but please let us know (if you haven’t already) so that you don’t lose out on points.

BA Hand Baggage 

Travellers can continue to carry two pieces of hand baggage. One bag should be a handbag/laptop sized bag and the the additional bag remains unchanged and can weigh up to 23kgs. Customers travelling in all cabins, except First and Club World will recievev a yellow tag for handbag sized bags within the new dimensions.

Driving Licence Changes

You may already be aware that the paper counterpart to the photocard driving licence is no longer valid and will cease to be issued by DVLA. This came into effect from the 8th June 2015. Hiring cars also need the DVLA code which is now available for 21 days.

United to end Operations at JFK

United Airlines is to cease operations at New York JFK airport on October 25th after moving its Premium Service flights to Newark Liberty International. The announcement means all scheduled Newark-LA and Newark San Francisco flights will offer extra services including flatbed seats, Premium in flight services and in flight wifi. The move is being made so that passengers arriving in New York from LAX or San Francisco can transfer on to connecting flights; no such United connections exist at JFK.

Avis launches ’Arrive & Drive’

Car rental firm Avis has launched a free personal delivery service at Heathrow airport. The ’Arrive and Drive’ service enables Avis customers to collect their vehicle at any of the airport’s terminals. An Avis representative will meet the customer in the arrivals hall, irrespective of landing time and escort them to their vehicle. They will also help customers with luggage and onward journey information.

Qatar Airways on Doha – Manila Route

Qatar Airways is adding six extra flights a week between Doha and Manila from October 26th. The extra flights will result in the airline operating a twice daily service between the two cities.

Rotana Hotels

Rotana Hotels and Resorts are to open new hotels over the next six months. The hospitality company will expand its portfolio across six different markets including the UAE, Africa and Turkey.
