London to Shanghai

The new British Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft is the most technologically advanced aircraft in the skies and will now serve the new London to Shanghai route from Summer 2016. BA are increasing the number of services between London and Shanghai by three per week from February 2016. 

Surround Sound now available

Advances in technology for British Airways means anyone flying in any BA cabin using their own headphones will be able to experience the new 3D surround sound offered on BA’s inflight entertainment. There are also a new range of headphones for customers in every cabin offering better sound.

Pre order meals

In more British Airways news, those flying in Premium cabins are now able to pre order their main in-flight meal up to 24 hours before take-off from London Heathrow.

Emirates to add second daily A380 service to Los Angeles

Emirates will launch a second daily A380 frequency to Los Angeles from July 1st.  The new service will depart from Dubai.

EasyJet flight change fees

Changes have been made to easyJet’s name change fees. The cost to change a name on a reservation is now £15 per passenger per sector if the flight departs in more than 60 days. Should you wish to change a name within 59 days before departure; the fee will be £45 per passenger per sector.

Manchester Airport T2 Lounge

Manchester airport has closed its Escape Lounge at Terminal 2 until April 2016 for refurbishment works. This will affect Virgin Atlantic passengers eligible for lounge access. Travellers will be provided with a voucher to use at selected restaurants and bars in the terminal.

Changes of entry rules for Canada

From 15 March 2016, Canada is introducing a new entry requirement, known as Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTa) for visa exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air.

Intercontinental Hotels

Hotel Group IHG has opened Intercontinental Bordeaux. The hotel is the chain’s 5th to open in France.  IHG has also opened an Intercontinental London O2 on the Greenwich Peninsula in London.

Jumeirah Debrands Property

Jumeirah is to debrand its property in Rome at the end of this month. The 122 room Grand Hotel via Veneto has been part of the Jumeirah portfolio since 2012 but will become an independent property from February 1st.
