BA Cuisine Highlights


Premium customers on long haul flights can now guarantee their first choice of main course from the on-board a la carte menu up to 30 days before their flight. This service is available between London Heathrow and Las Vegas, Vancouver, Dallas, Seattle and Rio de Janeiro.  More routes to be added this year.


BA New Direct Service

A new direct service between London Heathrow and Krakow will launch in May 2015, in addition to the recently announced new double daily service to Bilbao in March.


BA Free First Class Upgrade

In more British Airways news, Club World passengers can receive a free one way upgrade to first class for a limited period. The offer is available now until March 13 for travel up to April 11. Upgrades must be requested at the time of booking.


Emirates New App

Emirates has launched an iPhone app which allows passengers to book flights, check in online, view their travel itinerary and use their boarding pass offline. They can also receive flight boarding alerts as well as select seats. Emirates are working on the app for Android later this year.


Newcastle to New York

United Airlines will launch non-stop flights between Newcastle and New York Newark this May. The service will operate five times a week.


Eurostar Orders Seven More e320 Trains


Eurostar announced it has ordered a further seven new e320 trains. Free wifi will be available throughout with some standard class coaches designed with reclining seats, plug sockets, moveable coat hooks and plenty of legroom.


Virgin Atlantic Changes


Virgin Atlantic has announced some intended changes to its network which include a daily service to and from London Heathrow to Detroit, a fifth daily service from London Heathrow to New York JFK and a withdrawal of operations to Mumbai and Tokyo.


Thistle ‘Choose Your Own Room’ Service


Thistle hotels have launched a service that allows guests to take a virtual online tour of rooms and then book the one they desire. The service is already in place at the Thistle Euston Hotel in London. After booking a room, guests receive an email with a link to take a 360 degree tour of the property’s rooms including the view.
