British Airways Connectivity
British Airways are running a trial on Boeing 747-400 aircraft offering streaming media and live TV directly to customers’ own personal devices. Customers will be able to browse onboard internet and view selected websites for free. On payment of a fee to T-Mobile, they will be able to buy internet access for either one hour or the duration of the whole flight.
The procedure for obtaining Turkish visas has changed this year from 10th April 2014. The traditional stamp visa collected on arrival will be replaced by the e-visa. Visitors to Turkey must obtain an e-visa by visiting the e-visa website [link] prior to travel. E-visas cost 20 USD and should be obtained at least one week before departure. BA Route London Heathrow- Singapore
British Airways has announced Singapore as the latest destination to be served by its Airbus A380. The three times a week service starts on 28th October 2014 and will increase the number of A380 destinations to five.
Heathrow’s New T2
London Heathrow’s rebuilt Terminal 2, which is also known as the ‘Queen’s Terminal’, is due to open on June 4th when United will be the first airline to move into the building.
Shangri-La set for Shard Opening
Hotel Group Shangri-La will open its hotel inside London’s Shard tower on May 6th 2014. It will be the Hong-Kong based group’s third in Europe. The 202 room hotel will feature event spaces and London’s highest infinity pool on the 52nd floor.
Heathrow Express New Route
Heathrow Express is targeting the new Western Rail Access line to extend its fast shuttle rail to rail services to Reading. Currently passengers wanting to access Heathrow from Reading have to travel directly to Paddington. Services are expected to be run by the Great Western Main Line operator, First Group.
British Airways London- Chennai
In more British Airways news, BA has announced they will increase a daily service from Heathrow to Chennai. Service will commence from 26th October 2014 and will continue into the Summer of 2015 as a daily 787 service.
Qatar Airways Introduces All Business Class
Qatar Airways will become the first carrier to fly an all- business class service from Doha to London Heathrow. This will commence May 15th 2014.
