With the world rapidly moving to online / mobile platforms for retail purchasing, these trends are also now majorly impacting business travel trade. The expectations of travel bookers, procurement managers and what organisation are looking for within travel services has evolved.

Giles Travel has evolved, too. We are thrilled to formally introduce Atlas GTI – our totally proprietary online travel management system and global travel interface.

The brainchild of our CTO, Chris Harnetty, Atlas was publically previewed at TBTC ’16 and will soon be the entering beta testing phase with select Giles Travel clients, who have the unique ability to influence the solution’s appearance and functionality. A fully live bookable BETA for flights will launch by Q3 2016. The live BETA for flights and hotel bookings, further extending to rail and travel ancillaries, will follow soon after.

With the release and enhancements of the current Giles Travel client portal platform in July last year and with Atlas now on the near horizon, this is the juncture where Giles Travel move to the front of the pack of TMC online solutions.

Thus the project plan for the Giles Group’s very own online solution, Atlas GTI (Global Travel Interface), was assembled. A comprehensive specification of the functionality required within the current online business travel environment by a group of people with 10 years of online corporate implementation experience and 10 years online sales experience.

With Giles Travel already having many of the core platforms (Bespoke QC, Profiling, Portal, Invoicing and Quoting systems), Chris and his team already had the base functionality and code to build from.

Coming late to the online party, Chris believes has proved an advantage. The established online booking engines who built their frameworks 10 years ago are struggling to adapt them to the modern flight arena of branded fares, EMDs, ancillaries.

The Atlas GTI branding has been design by Square1 – the brand and marketing communications agency behind the recent ITM rebrand. Part of the Giles Group, Square1’s creative team are now working with Giles Travel on the Atlas user interface, look & feel.
