In this edition of G-News we put the spotlight on the beautiful Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch, London.
A mixture of quirky culture and West End service, The Courthouse is nestled in the centre of London’s most buzzed about neighbourhood. The Grade II listed Baroque style building has been transformed from its colourful past as the Old Street Magistrates’ Court into a state of the art luxe-boutique hotel. The renovation oversaw the addition of a new wing and now is home to 86 spacious guestrooms and 42 suites. Not one corner is untouched by luxury, as the hotel boasts a historical restaurant, 3 bars, bowling alley, cinema, and spa.
From the original Baroque style façade to the stunning stained glass windows, the building’s restoration has sought to celebrate its rich history and period features. Old jail cells that once detained East London’s most notorious criminals have been refurbished into private seating areas in the main bar. Not to be missed is the Shoreditch Sky Terrace bar, with the most impressive rooftop view in the neighbourhood, not to mention the exclusive Members Club. There are 11 different event spaces for up to 800 people, including the private two-lane bowling alley.
In a signature mixing old with new, the new contemporary wing houses guestrooms, including two Sky Terrace Suites complete with private bar and mini cinema. The stunning facilities include a spa with indoor heated pool, treatment rooms, steam room and sauna.
The Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch is sure to quickly become East London’s most luxurious hotspot. The neighbourhood’s quirky restaurants, bars, and a thriving art scene are the perfect backdrop for an indulgent city getaway.
