Following on from our Traveller Tracking white paper article, we have a wide variety of tools and techniques we use to keep our clients safe during their travels.
At the heart of our clients’ corporate social responsibility policies is G-Safe, our web-based application that provides robust traveller tracking. Through the use of search criteria, users are able to locate travellers in moments with information presented in a clear user interface. The system also includes risk assessment functionality, highlighting any potential trouble spots. With G-Safe, clients can easy locate travellers and respond quickly in the event of an emergency or any travel disruptions. The easy to use web application is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Complimenting our travel technology, we also offer a more human approach to traveller safety. We work with International SOS the world’s leading medical and travel security risk services company. From adding valuable insight into staying safe abroad through to emergency repatriation, International SOS help us deliver a vital security blanket to our clients.
Focussing exclusively on the needs of female business travellers, we’re proud to also work with Maiden Voyage, an award winning global business travel network for professional women. We understand the importance of female traveller security and fully recommend all women travellers to join the Maiden Voyage network. With a wealth of practical tips and guides based on real-life experiences, Maiden Voyage provides invaluable city guides, traveller safety tips and a directory of female-friendly hotels, which are secure for women travellers and personally appraised by Maiden Voyage. CEO Carolyn Pearson launched the network in 2008 and now has members from all walks of professional life and from over 80 countries. Every week, for example, they inspect hotels to check for double locked doors, 24-hour manned reception and discretion when communicating room numbers.
We are constantly exploring new traveller safety practices and new software innovations to help us keep our travellers safe. Right now we’re evaluating an exciting new enhancement to our G-Safe suite, which will deliver an incredibly robust alert and direct contact solution to travellers. We’ll be sure to share further information on this development shortly.
In the meantime, Giles Travel are working with Maiden Voyage to deliver specific training courses for female travellers. These invaluable sessions will cover a variety of topics from basic self-defence, hotel safety, medical care, pregnancy in travel and hotel safety.
