Whether for business or pleasure, private air charter can take you anywhere you choose, the finest yachts can be either hired or chartered worldwide and so whichever catches your fancy, it can be arranged.
In the business world, corporate air and yacht charter is increasingly being recognised as one of the most exciting alternatives to a conventional hotel conference. Much of this has to do with the level of enjoyment and the allure of the venue that a yacht provides and the sheer simplicity, flexibility of travel logistics and cost advantages that can be gained from private air charter. Charters can be arranged to coincide with film festivals, exhibitions and the Grand Prix, as well as cocktail parties and product launches, all with the added benefit of complete security and privacy. Larger numbers can be accommodated and this type of corporate venue is well worth the research.
As travelling from the major airports becomes more and more of a stressful experience with flight cancellations and delays, busy check-in queues and increased security measures, the concept of private jet travel definitely takes on a greater attraction. The private jet experience means freedom, freedom from busy air traffic, freedom from the long waits in the terminal and freedom to choose the dates and times you would like to travel. Departing from one of the 70 private jet airports around the UK, entirely new possibilities are opened up and in fact there are many destinations that can only be reached by private jets rather than scheduled airlines.
Limousine transfers can be arranged from your home or office to take you to your chosen UK departure airport or, alternatively, a helicopter transfer can be considered from a site nearby to your home. Free parking is generally available at your departure airport for the duration of the holiday and at a majority of airports, parking is only a short walk from the aircraft, effectively allowing you to drive to the plane.
There is no formal check-in. You can arrive as little as fifteen minutes before take-off and if you are delayed a little on the way to the airport, the plane will wait for you! There are no specific baggage restrictions, though space is obviously limited and soft-sided luggage is preferable. Pre-clearance with custom and immigration authorities is arranged before arrival.
Of course, if chartering a yacht, there are some decisions to be made before you set sail, such as whether to charter a motor cruiser or a sailing yacht, equally luxurious but each offering a different experience. One of the joys of chartering a private yacht is that each one is completely unique, with its own style and character, reflected in its design, layout and furnishings both inside and out.
On board the yacht, your Captain is effectively your personal concierge and in addition to managing the yacht, he will also make dinner reservations, plan changes in the itinerary, make suggestions for interesting stops and generally ensure those aboard are having a relaxing time. He can even get into some hard-to-enter night spots!
The choice of where to sail is entirely up to you and this is usually planned in advance or the Captain’s suggestions can be sought on arrival. Additionally, changes can be made as your holiday progresses but bear in mind that more popular ports such as Porto Cervo or St Tropez become very busy in July and August and bookings need to be made well in advance.
