Sixty Second Spotlight: Robert Brown

Every now and then we turn the spotlight on one of our fantastic members of staff to give a face to the name so many clients know from their daily dealings with us. This month we caught up with Specialist Airfares Consultant, Robert Brown.

A keen snowboarder, Robert has been with Giles Travel for over 5 years and his and the Specialist Airfares Team's ability to deliver huge savings on long haul and complex flight itineraries is legendary. Here's what we found out in our sixty seconds:

Q: What's your proudest achievement?
A: Graduation day and of course marrying my beautiful wife.

Q: Who would you be on Stars In Their Eyes?
A: Buddy Holly - if I could sing!

Q: What are you most likely to say?
A: At the moment, I hate BA!

Q: And least likely to say?
A: I love BA!

Q: What's the favourite part of your job?
A: I have always enjoyed travelling and working in the Travel Industry. I have been employed in travel and tourism for 15 years and am always finding out about new places in the world, alternative airlines and hotels. It's always evolving and such a dynamic industry to be in.

Q: How do you get your own way?
A: Smile sweetly, raising eyebrows and if that doesn't work stamp my feet.

Q: What's your most embarrassing moment?
A: Some say it's lucky but I was walking proudly with my new friends on my first day of Uni and a pigeon dive bombed me in the middle of a high street. My new friends scattered and it took lots of tissues to get it out of my, then, long hair!

Q: Which person would you most like to be stuck in a lift with?
A: Apart from the obvious Megan Fox, Kate Bekinsale, Penelope Cruz, I'd like to be stuck in a lift with someone who could fix it, I might start getting a little claustrophobic.

Q: If you could change one thing about the business travel industry, what would it be?
A: It would make many people's lives easier if airlines did something to reduce the complexity and non-uniformity of rules and fare levels/classes.

Look out for the Specialist Airfare Team's monthly e-offers for fantastic savings on all long haul fares.
